Extended Policy Changes
Tuesday, May 31, 2016
Our shelter will be changing its policies in regard to allowing visitors to freely walk through the kennels. For both the safety and health of the animals and our visitors, you must be a pre-screened adopter or a registered volunteer to have access to the animal kennels. We are very sorry for any inconvenience and we greatly appreciate your support in our time of change.
Becoming a pre-screened adopter is a very easy process and only requires you to fill out our adoption application. An adoption counselor will then meet with you to go over the application. Becoming pre-screened reduces the chance of falling in love with an animal and not be able to take them home. It also reduces the spur-of-the-moment, emotional adoption, which can often result in the animals being brought back. Approved applications are kept on file for at least 30 days. To fill out your application ahead of time visit About Adopting!
Becoming a registered volunteer begins with filling out our volunteer application.
Your application will be sent to our volunteer coordinator who will contact you about our next orientation date. All we ask of volunteers is come willing to help and be able to commit to four hours at our shelter each month.
For any questions, please visit us at the shelter or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
