If You Find a Lost Pet
- Take it to the appropriate Animal Shelter. Do not keep the pet. Someone may be looking for their animal, and it is against the law to take ownership. Call the Humane Society.
- Call Animal Control and they will help to transfer the animal to the proper place.
If You are Missing a Pet
- Report your pet missing. You might be asked to file a lost report so that shelter staff can help to identify it if your pet is picked up.
- Bring a picture of your lost pet to the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society to file with your lost report.
- Your animal will have to have a current Rabies Vaccination and license when picking up if not already done so. Please prepare for this if your pet is found and you are picking it up.
