Hi my name is Buddy! Let me greet you with a few boofs, I am part hound so I am definitely a talker! I came to the shelter because I wasn’t getting along with the cats on the farm. I am a bit timid when meeting people at first but give me a couple treats and I will be your new best friend! I do really like toys and I am very treat-motivated. Tennis balls are my favorite but I do have to be watched with them because I do chew them up. I don’t seem to know any commands as of yet but I’m willing to learn! I was an outdoor dog in my previous home but I wouldn’t mind becoming an indoor dog. That means I will need to be house trained though. I do need to be leashed outside or have a fenced in yard because I do have a high prey drive and will go after small animals if there are any around. I am capable of jumping a 6-foot fence so I will need someone outside with me at all times. I really hate kennels and I have been known to destroy them to get out of them. Because I don’t always like to share my toys, I should do great with supervised children ages 7 and up. They will need to understand to go slow with me at first. I need to go to a home where there are no small dogs or cats because I treat them like toys instead of other animals. I have been around other dogs before, I do well with dogs that are my size or larger. I have been around cattle too and I tend to just stand and bark at them but I wouldn’t go near them. If you have a large canine friend at home, please bring them to the shelter to meet me before adopting so we can make sure we are compatible. I'm neutered, microchipped, Frontlined, given a rabies shot, and started on my other vaccinations. Will you be this guys’ forever home?
You must be a pre-screened adopter to spend time with me.
