Hey there I’m Max! I came back to the shelter because my owner could no longer care for me. I am a very energetic boy that is looking for an active family that can keep up with me. You won't need to worry about house training me because I'm smart and already have that down! As far as commands I also know how to sit. When it comes to treats I will listen to you when you have them and I take them gently from you. I love to be around my people and get lots of attention from them. Sometimes I want to be as close to you as possible and will lay under your feet, and when there is more than one person sitting together I like to sit between you like a doggy sandwich. My jealousy issues are something I'm working on. Because I love my humans I can be protective at times when people come over and need someone who can teach me that strangers aren't always bad and it might even mean more play time and scratches! I am afraid of vacuums and fast movements. I have to go to a home with supervised kids 14 and older because I do prefer a more structured calm home. I do find toys that I fall in love with like soft toys with squeakers and sometimes will not give them back it is best to give me some time to chew on it and enjoy it. I do need a fenced in yard with at least 6 ft because I have been known to jump fences. I am known to be a counter surfer and will try to eat your food but with some training and patience you could teach me what I can do while humans are eating their meals. I don’t to be kenneled just because I miss you a lot and will bark until I see you again. I’m not sure how I feel about dogs or cats so if you have a dog friend at home please make sure you bring them to the shelter to meet me before adopting to make sure we are compatible with each other. I am ready to be your best friend, learn all you can teach me, and at the end of the day snuggle up and watch some tv. I am neutered, microchipped, treated with frontline, rabies vaccinated, and started on my other vaccinations. Will you be my forever family?
