My name is Laia. I arrived at the shelter a little timid and sometimes still need a little time to get to know you, but I've since really come around and love going out for my walks! I have been around some dogs and it’s very hit or miss if we get along. I cannot go to a home with dogs smaller than me and I’d really do best as the only dog in the home. I’m currently actually residing in foster care where my foster family is learning a little bit more about me. I’ve done very well sleeping through the night in a crate. If I have to go to the bathroom or want to be let out once I hear you’re awake, I’ll make little chirping sounds to make sure you know I’m up, but I haven't been a barker. I’ve done well on a tie out with them as long as it’s for short periods. As long as I’m let out on a schedule, I don’t have accidents inside. I do love to play fetch and am really good at it! I’m pretty independent, but I like being by your feet or at least in the same room as my people. I showed some signs of having separation anxiety at the shelter, but in my foster home as long as I’m supervised and have a schedule, I haven’t been destructive. I just need a patient person who's willing to positively teach me new things to keep me busy. We don't know for sure what my breed mixture is, but it's very likely I'm a combination of some herding breeds which is why you should do thorough research on our needs before taking me home. We need to keep busy and be mentally challenged to stay happy! I love car rides and walks and I have pretty good manners! I'm very intelligent and want to learn, would you give me a chance to show you how good I can be?
