I really love people, but can be a little hesitant with strangers. I appear to be worse with men, especially when I pass them on the street. I'm very gentle and rarely jump on anyone, but am still excitable and like to dance when happy. I'm not always comfortable in new places and will often times try to bolt if something startles me. I will need a patient owner who has the time to introduce me to the world and help me become more confident. Right now I'm very laid back and calm for a young lab, but that could change once I become more comfortable in my new home or with the world at large. I would do best with someone who is experienced with shy dogs and can help me come out of my shell. I don't really appear to understand what toys are for and may need some help understanding how to play. I have lived with other dogs before and done well. I have been around livestock and loved to chase them. I need a very secure fenced in yard to keep me safe as I will wonder and get into trouble. I would do best with children 11 years or older due to my shyness and bashfulness with strangers. Children should understand how to be calm and gentle around me. Children who are very excited and move quickly and suddenly will be very overwhelming and scary to me.
