Kids Club
What is Kids Club?
The Kids Club program features interactive educational meet-ups about animals.
We believe in this program because building a more humane community begins with our youngest citizens.
Kids Club offers fun, education, and interactive experiences for kids who love animals.
Children ages 5-12 are invited to become members!
Programs are tailored to the audience’s age level and interests. All meet-ups are approximately 1.5 hours unless otherwise specified.
Some programs may include special guests, animal service projects, fun crafts, or animal interaction.
Kids Club focuses on education more than cleaning or interacting with the animals at the shelter.
Once kids have reached the age of 12 they can graduate to the junior volunteer program , which is more hands-on with the animals!

When is Kids Club?
The Kids Club meets exclusively in the summer months!
Playdates take place at the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society unless otherwise specified from 1:30pm to 3:00pm
2023 Tentative Dates: June 11th, July 9th, August 6th, and September 10th.

Because Kids Club regularly meets both indoors and outdoors, please dress appropriately for the weather and bring water bottles to stay hydrated! Members will receive more information via email about each playdate, 2-3 weeks before the playdate, and be able to RSVP. There are typically 15-18 kids at each playdate, plus guardians.
Parents & Guardians don't go too far! We want you to be included! We strongly encourage parents & guardians to stay for the playdate to learn alongside their children and help out where needed with crafts or activities. You will also be required to sign a waiver at the first playdate your child(ren) attend.
