Hi, my name is Baya (Bay-ya)! I came to the shelter with little information. I am shy and unsure of new places but I am very sweet and will even smile at you! I am very shy and nervous, and whine a lot when I’m anxious. It does take me some time to warm up to new people and I tend to warm up to one person at a time, women typically first. I have lived with dogs before but staff is unsure of how we got along. If you have a dog, please bring them to the shelter before adoption so staff can introduce us. I have not been around cats. Because of how shy and reserved I am at first, I should go to a home with children ages 13 and up. Because of how timid I am of strangers, I will sometimes growl at them and try to 'protect' my person. Due to this, I should not live in an apartment where I see strangers frequently. I also do need a fence for the same reasons. I will need a patient owner who will help me come out of my shell. I love to give hugs and to be held in your lap! Will you love me forever?
