The Sioux Falls Area Humane Society assisted the Mitchell Police Department with a potential cruelty investigation involving a multitude of cats. Our humane officers partnered with the police to bring the animals to safety. Because this is an ongoing investigation, we will not be able to release any information about these cats.

The cats have been quarantined at the SFAHS and are receiving critical, lifesaving care and treatment as necessary. Many will need attention and time; cases like this require extra and urgent resources.
